Private Work Fees
We are happy to carry out medicals for insurance or work purposes. Appointments can be made at reception but it is important that you make the receptionist aware the appointment is for a private medical. Please note that all private medicals and reports will entail a fee of between £75.00 up to and including £300.00 dependant on the nature of the report itself.
Please note we have received an increase in applications for the latest Government initiative the EC04, these attract a fee of £75.00 for completion, this charge is for payment of the applicant and is not covered by the scheme itself, please consider this cost when applying
DVLA Requests
Donnington Medial Practice is no longer able to complete DVLA driver licensing reports for patients.
The adminstration currently required by the DVLA for these services were last agreed upon in 2004, over 20 years ago. Since then, there has been a significant rise in the increasing demands on general practice. As a result, we have no capacity within our clinical time required to complete the forms.
The British Medical Association (BMA) has outlined in its guidance that the DVLA reports substantially underestimate the true burden on GP practices. Continuing to process these forms is becoming unsustainable and impacts our ability to provide essential NHS services to all our patients.
It is also worth noting that, more often than not, the DVLA is able to complete your forms without the need for GP information.
We regret that we will be unable to process any DVLA reports.
We understand that this may be frustrating, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused but we cannot provide services without the capacity to do so.
DVLA announces change in the law to enable more healthcare professionals to complete medical questionnaires. Roads Minister Baroness Vere said:
“This law change, which widens the pool of healthcare professionals who can complete DVLA questionnaires, improves the process for those notifying DVLA of medical conditions whilst reducing the administrative burden on doctors, benefitting drivers and the NHS alike.”
